Harvest...

I got out the canner. Then the jars, the lids, and the bands. Washed them all and put the jars, bands, and lids in simmering water.

Gathered heaps of fresh Roma tomatoes from my garden (not bad for only two Roma plants), fresh basil (also from the garden), onion, and garlic. Chopped, mixed, stirred, and simmered.

The house smelled like an Italian restaurant.

The result? Seven delightful pints of my homemade marinara sauce. Yum!

Isn't it WONDERFUL to have the time--and the patience--to be able to realize the fruits of our labors in such a delicious way? Marinara would hit the spot right now--may I come over for dinner? :) BTW, it's that time of week again--please drop on in for a little Silly Summer Sunday Sweepstakes. You have 2 chances to play!
