The Final Harry Potter Read Until You Drop-A-Thon

I finished my copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows last night at 11:06. Loved it, hated it, loved it. There's things I was definitely unhappy with (don't worry, I'm not going to spoil it for you) and things I loved about it. Overall, definitely worth ignoring housework for a few days while I plowed through it.

However, I hate the fact that it's over with. The anticipation of the next chapter in the saga of Harry and his friends was almost as good as finally getting the book in your hands and reading it. Now it's over and I'm kind of left a bit deflated. I honestly loved the world that J. K. Rowling created and truly will miss visiting there every book. Now what do we look forward to?

Sigh.

I'm looking forward to the upcoming The Golden Compass movie. I really loved those books as much as I loved Harry Potter.

I rmember the day I first heard about Harry Potter--now it is over. I really liked the book but I'm sad it's over.

Who knows? Sir Arthur Conan Doyle thought he was done with Sherlock Holmes, but public pressure finally forced him to renew the series. Maybe the same thing will happen with Rowling and Harry Potter.

I know. I was almost as upset by the end of the series as by anything in the book itself. It's been a wonderful journey though--I'm thinking of starting from the beginning and going very, very slowly to savor all of the details.

This was not the best book of the series, by far, but I like the way she ended it all unambiguously.

I liked it too, but I really kind of thought that turning Harry into a leather-clad, 9 foot tall, immortal version of Baby New Year was a bit much for my tastes... I'm just sayin...
