*Sniff* *Wheeze* *Cough*

Allergies suck.

There's just no other way to describe it. They're just absolutely freaking awful.

I've had allergies my whole life. As a kid growing up in California I even went through nearly ten years of allergy shots. I moved to Ohio and noticed that - thankfully - my allergies pretty much lasted from the time they harvested winter wheat until the first hard frost. They were still pretty nasty, however during the summer and I suffered through it.

Now I'm in Tennessee, which, if you believe what people tell you, Is The Absolute Worst Place To Live If You Have Allergies.

I tend to believe it, although I've been to Georgia a time or two when the pine pollen bathed everything with a green-yellow haze. You know the pollen count is high when you can write your name on the hood of your car.

In any case, hubby and I have gobs of yardwork to do and I actually enjoy doing it. The problem is that I suffer for it even with allergy pills and nose sprays and taking a shower after being outside and all that. The yard work isn't going away and neither are my allergies. So I suffer through it.

And I'm cranky. My nose is stuffed up. I sneeze so bad the cats run and hide. And I have a headache.

I've made the decision to start in on allergy shots again, mainly because nothing is helping and I'm sick and tired of snorting around like this. However, I can't get in to see the allergist until the 21st of June. Which figures.

*Sneeze*

Man, that sucks. I'm with you though. I have days where I wake up and swear someone is standing on my face and there's a faucet attached to my nose. I hope it eases up for you. Good luck with the gardening, through the allergies and the humidity--which I do not miss one bit! :)

Aww! I'm sorry you suffer so! When I lived in Utah, my allergies were much worse than they are now. Sure it's desert there, but it was high desert, and plenty of stuff grew in the ag. fields near my house. Some days half my face would go numb. I've spent many years of my life a walking zombie with so much allergy medication in my system. Hope your allergy season is short!

I have allergies, too- can't mow the lawn without having a complete attack. Ragweed is the big offender for me. And then my whole head itches inside and out. My throat, my eyes, my ears. Benadryl works, but unfortunately puts me in a drug induced stupor, so I don't take it. Let me know how the shots work. My allergies aren't nearly as bad as yours- only a few miserable days on either end of the summer and those days when the pollen and ragweed counts are really high.

I hope your sneezy problems are over with soon. Georgia is also a bad place to be for allergies. Atlanta has been fogged in for several days with waves of smoke from the fires in south Georgia. Last Saturday it was so bad people though something was on fire in west Atlanta. Last night's newscast said the number of bronchitis cases had increased all over the city.

Hope you are better soon...

Eastern Washington here, and my bane is the &$#&^@*$ cottonwood trees. Beautiful trees, but when they shed their fluffy white death cloud every spring I know that I'm looking at a good three wees of headaches and carrying around a hanky filled with ten pounds of snot.

The only reprieve is during the rare rain storms; afterwards, you can see the puddles outlined in yellow from all the pollen.

The other thing I've discovered is that there's no sleep quite like a Sudafed coma. I went down last night at 10:00 and woke up at 8:00 this morning, and man that was a deep, deep slumber. God bless drugs.
